I study the ecology and evolution of plant-pollinator interactions. My work focuses on how the quality and quantity of floral rewards affects individual pollinator behavior and health, as well as pollinator diversity and abundance. I work on native bees in natural and agricultural ecosystems.
Native bee communities vary across three prairie ecoregions due to land use, climate, sampling methods and bee life history traits
Work led by graduate students Monica Kohler and Ashton Sturm reports that the abundance and richness of native bees differs between canola fields and rangelands, but that ecological and geographic factors also influence native bee communities.
